Meet Dr. Sheron Patterson

Mission Statement

My mission is to help women age with power, purpose, and praise. Through faith, wellness, encouragement, and practical wisdom, I empower women to embrace aging not as an ending, but as God's invitation to live boldly, serve joyfully, and finish strong.

Vision Statement

My vision is a world where every woman sees aging not as decline, but as a season of strength, wisdom, influence, and possibility—a generation rising with faith, purpose, and joy to prove that we are not finished yet.

Dr. Sheron  Patterson is one of America's emerging voices on faith and healthy aging. A nationally respected pastor, author, speaker, media personality, and healthy aging advocate, she is helping redefine what it means to grow older with strength, purpose, faith, and joy.

After more than 35 years in pastoral ministry—including making history as the first African American woman ordained in the North Texas Conference of The United Methodist Church—Dr. Patterson has dedicated this chapter of her life to helping adults, churches, and communities embrace aging as a season of possibility rather than decline.

She is the author of nine books, including her newest release, We Ain't Dead Yet: 20 Faith Moves for Women Aging with Power, Purpose, and Praise, a biblical guide encouraging women to steward their health, deepen their faith, and flourish in the second half of life. Through her writing, speaking, and media appearances, she challenges outdated stereotypes about aging and inspires people to live with vitality, resilience, and hope.

Many know Dr. Patterson from WFAA-TV's Good Morning Texas, where she has shared practical wisdom on relationships, wellness, caregiving, mental health, and healthy living with audiences across North Texas. Her work has also appeared in newspapers, magazines, and national church publications, where she writes at the intersection of faith, public health, caregiving, and aging.

Her passion for healthy aging extends far beyond the stage. Through her Ministry of Movement, Dr. Patterson encourages older adults to embrace exercise as an act of faithful stewardship, proving that movement is one of God's gifts for longevity and abundant living. She frequently speaks to churches, civic organizations, healthcare groups, and community leaders about building healthier, stronger communities for older adults.

A 19-year breast cancer survivor, Dr. Patterson understands firsthand the power of resilience. She founded The Patterson Pledge, an initiative providing free mammograms for women in need, and has partnered with Habitat for Humanity to strengthen neighborhoods and expand opportunities for families.

A graduate of Spelman College and Perkins School of Theology, Dr. Patterson is a trusted voice for audiences seeking practical wisdom, biblical encouragement, and a fresh vision for aging well.

She and her husband, Robert, have been married for more than four decades and are the proud parents of two adult children.

Because Dr. Sheron Patterson believes growing older isn't about slowing down—it's about rising up. We ain't dead yet.
